NORTHWAY HISTORY BY ANDY TAYLOR
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE YEARS IN MY STORY REFER TO
MODEL YEARS AND NOT ACTUAL PRODUCTION YEAR.
1973

There is talk of an oil shortage worldwide and all recreational vehicle sales slow down.

Northway has a new sled called Interceptor.

The Interceptor was inspired by the Sabre model.

Sabre was no longer produced due to lack of sales although leftover Sabres were marketed
as 1973 models.

4000 Interceptors and Explorers were built for 1973 with Kiekhaefer and Sachs out of the picture and Hirth in.

CCW remained as an engine supplier and of course the 6 Wheeler and the trike are no
longer offered because we no longer built Sabres for them. ( SABRE -  we produced
snowmobiles for Recreatives Inc. Out of Buffalo N.Y. that were marketed in the U.S.
with the name Sabre ( CLICK HERE FOR PHOTO ).
