WHAT IS YOUR SLED WORTH? PAGE 227

I GET EMAILS FROM OWNERS ASKING ME WHAT I THINK THEIR SLED IS WORTH.  THE WORTH OF A SLED DEPENDS
ON MANY FACTORS SUCH AS - APPEARANCE - CONDITION - MILEAGE - ACCIDENTED - IS THE MOTOR STUCK - TRACK
CONDITION - RARE MODEL - STORED OUTSIDE / INSIDE -  ORIGINAL - HAVING TRANSFER PAPERS AND SO ON.

I CREATED THESE PAGES TO GIVE BUYERS AND SELLERS A LOOK AT SLEDS THAT HAVE RECENTLY SOLD ON EBAY
WITH THEIR DESCRIPTION. THIS IS NOT TO BE USED AS AN ACCURATE PRICE LIST OF A SLEDS WORTH BUT AS A
GUIDE TO SHOW YOU WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SELL OR BUY A SLED FOR ON EBAY.

JUST REMEMBER - SOMETIMES ON EBAY - 2 BIDDERS DRIVE A SLED'S PRICE WAY UP OVER THE TRUE VALUE
BECAUSE THEY BOTH WANT IT AND THEN SOMETIMES A SLED CAN SELL ON EBAY FOR A LOT LESS THAN
TRUE VALUE BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR IT WAS POSTED OR THE WAY THE PERSON POSTED THE AD.

THIS GUIDE IS IN NO WAY INTENDED TO TELL YOU THE WORTH OF A SLED.  AFTER ALL  A SLED IS WORTH ONLY
WHAT THE BUYER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. I AM POSTING THIS GUIDE AS A SERVICE AND NOTHING ELSE.
I CANNOT TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE PRICE YOU BUY OR SELL YOUR SLED AT. THAT IS TOTALLY
YOUR DECISION.  GOOD LUCK.

I DO NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE YEAR POSTED WITH THE SNOWMOBILE.
SOMETIMES - PEOPLE POST THE WRONG YEAR.

THIS SLED RECENTLY SOLD ON EBAY.

HERE IS HOW THIS AD READ ON EBAY.

Here is my beautifully restored 1980 Ski Doo Elite Snowmobile.  These are rare machines, and hard to find, especially in this condition!  The machine was painstakingly disassembled for the restoration.  The metal body, which had almost no rust, was sandblasted to the bare metal, all dings removed with dolly and hammer, primed, and repainted.  The fiberglass body, which had minimal spider cracking, was sanded, repaired and reinforced with fiberglass in the few places necessary, primed and repainted to a professional finish.  The decals were photographed and computer reproduced exactly by a local sign shop.  The woodgrain burl is exactly the same as the original.  The paint and decals on this machine are better than new.  The tracks are original and in good condition, as are the sliders and the rest of the suspension.  The axle bearings and seals were replaced with new ones just to make sure.  With only 444 miles, the drivetrain has no issues.  The skis were sandblasted, pickled, and powder coated gloss black with new carbide runners.  The seats were recovered exactly like the originals including the same thick textured vinyl and ski doo yellow piping.  The engine starts right up, is reliable, will idle all day, and purrs like a kitten.  These machines feature automotive style liquid cooling systems including radiator and fan.  A belt driven automotive style alternator keeps the battery charged.  The machine also features electric start and heated hand warmers.  I have put about 100 miles on this machine over the last few years.  I restored it mainly as a show machine, but I have taken it to the occasional vintage ride as well.  This Elite has taken many awards at vintage shows, including best of show and people's choice awards.  It does draw a crowd wherever it goes, and cheers and thumbs up on the trails.  Other collectors have commented on the originality of the restoration, and have said that it looks like an original.  The machine needs nothing, is turn key, and ready to go.  The pictures were taken after a ride with muddy boots, and the machine is not as spotlessly clean in these pictures as I would normally keep it.  The paint, upholstry and interior shine right up and look like new.  I urge anyone interested to look at this machine in person, and take it for a ride.  Please ask all questions.  I will not arrange shipping but will deliver to a local shipper within 30 miles to assist a buyer once funds have cleared.  I had this machine shipped from Iowa when I purchased it five years ago.  I hate to let this machine go, but I havn't  been able to find the time to make it to a vintage show yet this year, and I hate to see it just sit in the barn.  Included in the auction is a spare engine that I happened to come across, and doubt will ever be needed, but nice to have, along with an original Ski Doo dealer parts manual for this machine.  A deposit of $500 is due within 24 hours by the winning bidder.  I do have a transferable registration in hand.  The vehicle is currently registered and insured.
