| This
is a 1975 Polaris TX440. It is in very good unrestored original condition
and comes with the original Polaris cover. It was stored in a garage and
covered most of it's life. I am told these are very rare and desirable
for collectors and vintage racing as it was the only year made with an
aluminum tunnel and belly pan and FACTORY twin pipes. The fuel system is
very clean, the engine runs great and the pipes are in exellnet condition.
It comp tests at 125+ psi per cylinder and the lights, switches and brake
work. The track is in good condition and the clutches and drive work fine.
The speedo reads 1969 miles but the drive is broken so I don't know the
true milage. It has a cylinder head temp gauge added but looks othewise
all original. The hood has spider cracks, scratches and skuffs but is solid.
There is also a crack in the windshield where the hood cable attaches.
The dash, gauges, fuel tank, handlebars, pad, grips, switches and trunk
assembly are all in very good condition. The seat has one tear in the cover
and is starting to seperate by the top of the trunk. The bumpers are staight
but need rechroming. The belly pan is dented on the bottom and the tunnel
has some minor imperfections. The very rear of the skis are starting to
wear through but they are repairable. The factory canvas cover is dirty
and faded but has no tares or rot. Considering the fact that this sled
is over 30 years old I would say it is in very good overall condition and
almost 100% complete.
