Dave - Here is a pic of a 1975 POLAR BEAR. Reid Covey Vehicle Description - FROM EBAY AD Up for auction, I have a VERY RARE Polar Bear snowmobile. It is a 1975 340cc Machine. This is Machine is Rare, because it has a Sach 340 Engine. Only 2 are known to exsist with this engine package, and this one is the only one with original seat, and decals, as well as engine decals. This
machine has barly any time on it. if it has 100 miles on it I would
be surprised. The rubber nipples are still on the running board pads!!
This machine sat in a barn, covered its whole life, Making it a wonderful
peice of snowmobile history. on a 1 to 10 scale, I would rate it an 8.
The reasons why I would rate it an 8 are the following : Ski tips have
slight slight rust from over the years (I didnt touch them because it's
minor and didnt want to ruin the originality of it), Decals are original,
and after being in a barn for 25+ years, they are slightly showing age,
the decals I am talking about are the ones in the middle of the hood, side
decals are MINT. Front bumper was taken off and sanded and respray its
aluminum color, however there is a slight run on one side, and the engine
cover is original, and is showing its sign of aging. These are the only
problems with this machine. The only thing i have done to this machine
is have the back bumper rechromed, repaint the front bumper and put the
OEM replacement handles on the back(these are exact original replacements,
but I dont think they were made by the same company). I also had the exhaust
re-coated to its factory specs. This machine is amazing and was always
looked at wehn taken to shows. ONE OF A KIND. I am selling becuase i dont
do anything with my machines, and lost a lot of storage space, and would
rather see this machine goto a caring home that will cherish a rare rare
sled like this. Reserve is set low for a rare machine like this. Just wanted
to add, that i had this machine running last night, runs AWSOME! Starts
right up and runs very very smooth. SEE MORE
