MARCH 6 - 2006
Hi David - Here are a couple of sleds that you can use on your website.
The first one is a first year 1968 Mercury 150E. Just took the sled for a little ride on some fresh snow today, from what I understand there was only around 400 of these produced and most of them I am told were sent back to the factory because they ran way to hot and no matter what they tried didn't seem to work. Note the belly pan and hood were all one piece, mine is shown as the hood and belly pan being separate, we think the dealer may have done this in order to make working on the sled a little easier.
The second picture is another fairly rare sled. It was Yamaha's first full blown production sled it is a 1969 Yamaha SL-351. Yamaha did build a sled in 1968 called the SL-350 but was more of a, if I can use the word prototype. The 1968's are very rare. The 69 has dual slide mikuni carbs and oil injection. This sled has plenty of get up and go power and was way ahead of its time. Both sleds are in original unrestored condition.
Thanks a Million!
THANKS JEFF FOR THE GREAT PICTURE!
