I found this snowmobile in 1989 north of Duluth, MN. It was sitting in a woods behind a house. The tunnel was rotted, but all of the critical parts were there. A new tunnel was bent and with a little paint it looks like new. Arctic Cat built around 200 of these machines for J.C. Penneys for the 1966 model year. Most of them went to the Alaskan Pipeline. Penneys spec'd a lighter gauge sheet metal for the tunnel so they would not weigh as much as a similar Arctic Cat. The Foremost snowmobile had a problem with the tunnel buckling. So they were retro-fitted with brackets to reinforce the tunnel. Only problem was that now they weighed more than the Arctic Cats! It has an 8 h.p. Kohler engine, barn cleaner track and nylon slides. It has a fiberglass hood. The disc brake and gas tank are similar to the 141-D Cat.
