I GET LETTERS EVERY OTHER DAY FROM PEOPLE TELLING ME THEY HAVE A SLED FOR SALE AND ASKING ME WHAT I THINK IT IS WORTH.  THE WORTH OF A SLED DEPENDS ON MANY FACTORS SUCH AS - APPEARANCE - CONDITION - MILEAGE - ACCIDENTED - IS THE MOTOR STUCK - TRACK CONDITION - RARE MODEL - HAS IT BEEN STORED OUTSIDE OR INSIDE - IS IT ALL ORIGINAL - BUYING FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER AND HAVING TRANSFER PAPERS AND SO ON. I AM CREATING THESE PAGES TO GIVE BUYERS AND SELLERS A LOOK AT SLEDS THAT HAVE RECENTLY SOLD ON EBAY WITH THEIR DESCRIPTION SO YOU CAN COMPARE. THIS IS NOT TO BE USED AS AN ACCURATE PRICE LIST OF A SLEDS WORTH BUT AS A GUIDE TO SHOW YOU WHAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SELL OR BUY A SLED FOR ON EBAY. JUST REMEMBER - SOMETIMES ON EBAY - 2 BIDDERS DRIVE A SLED'S PRICE WAY UP OVER THE TRUE VALUE BECAUSE THEY BOTH WANT IT AND THEN SOMETIMES A SLED CAN SELL ON EBAY FOR A LOT LESS THAN TRUE VALUE BECAUSE OF THE TIME OF YEAR IT WAS POSTED OR THE WAY THE PERSON POSTED THE AD ON EBAY. I DO NOT KNOW THE TRUE VALUE OF SNOWMOBILES AND THIS GUIDE IS IN NO WAY INTENDED TO TELL YOU THE WORTH OF A SLED.  AFTER ALL  A SLED IS WORTH ONLY WHAT THE BUYER IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT. I AM POSTING THIS GUIDE AS A SERVICE AND NOTHING ELSE. This is a early 1970's model snowmobile .It has been used to pull sleds lite riding . It has had the drive belt changed and a few cleats on the track replaced. It has also had the fuel tank sealed and painted.Heres the catch . I burned a piston. The cylinder has been honed to remove any light scratching . and the head is fine you will need a piston and rings and also a head gasket witch could be made if you had to. 1976 Astro SS snomobile from Sno Jet. This model has a 338 fan cooled Yamaha motor. The overall condition is very good. The track and suspension are in great condition. The seat has been recovered. New skis along with wear bars two years ago. The motor runs and the sled has been used the last few years about four times a year. I purchased it about 6 years ago. What it needs is a tune up for the motor and primary clutch. Windshield is cracked and needs to be replaced. Needs a new headlight. 1971 Polaris 300 TX Charger. This is a unrestored snowmobile that has been well cared for over the years and it shows. Here is a rare find, this sled has been stored in side all of the time. There is some light rust on some parts of the chassis. There are a few dents in the bottom of the belly pan. The snowmobile runs and drives excellent for it age. The track is in very nice shape. The seat is close to new. The dash and the gages are very clean. All of the lights work as does the tach. It is hard to find a vintage snowmobile this nice for the starting price.
